2.1 CBI Globe – Global Open Banking Ecosystem

CBI Globe — Global Open Banking Ecosystem provides all ASPSP members, also at an international level, with greater ease in fulfilling the obligations imposed by PSD2, simplifying the interconnection between ASPSPs and TPPs through APIs, managing payment accounts easier and more efficient.

CBI Globe is based on the Berlin Group PSD2 compliant API Implementation Guidelines and it represents a single access point for the interconnection between TPPs and member ASPSPs. The ecosystem fostered by the CBI Globe will allow ASPSPs and TPPs to fully exploit the business opportunities enabled by the new competitive scenario — including, in particular, the development of value-added services.

Indeed, CBI Globe will manage not only the mandatory APIs that TPPs need in order to use the ‘basic’ PSD2 services (payment account information; payment initiation; and confirmation of funds), but also competitive APIs.

The timing of CBI Globe will therefore align with those regulations, hence:

  • by 14th March, 2019, the ASPSPs, through CBI Globe, will be ready to make their API specifications and APIs available for testing to allow TPPs to carry out the sandbox tests,
  • by 1st June 2019, CBI Globe will be available in production before the Regulatory deadlines.

By concentrating efforts and business specialisation to avoid dispersion and fragmentation, CBI Globe could be identified as a best practice within the Pan-European scenario, which could be adopted by relevant ASPSPs and TPPs.

Within the API Portal you can find a chart mapping CBI Globe’s ASPSP members with their related ASPSP Code (e.g. ABI Code) and reference endpoints to help you addressing the requests of your API invocations.
